Welcome!  Since 1965, Dr. Leroy Shimizu has been working with patients to provide the best dental care in the Pleasant Hill area.  The husband and wife team of Dr. Daniel Leung and Dr. Yen Vu joined Dr. Shimizu’s practice in 2006 and recently transitioned to become proud owners of the office with Dr. Shimizu entering semi-retirement in 2006.  Continuing with the same professional, caring staff, Dr. Leung and Dr. Vu will continue in the tradition of patient-oriented care.

Daniel C. Leung, DDS

Dr. Leung grew up in San Francisco and attended Lowell High School.  He graduated from U.C. Davis with honors in Microbiology and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery  (D.D.S.)  at UCSF.  Dr. Leung served as Dental Director of West County Health Centers, a Sonoma County Health Center, for three years.  He later joined a group practice in the San Francisco North Beach area before settling down with his wife, Dr. Yen Vu in the East Bay to practice dentistry.

Dr. Leung has wide and varied experience in all phases of dental treatment, especially enjoying cosmetic dentistry where he is able to create healthy smiles and teeth that are functional and natural.  Dr. Leung’s continued extended training and special interests include implants, cosmetic dentistry, and oral medicine.  He believes active membership in professional organizations to share ideas with colleagues is vital to his professional growth.  He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the California Dental Association.

Yen T. Vu, DDS

Dr. Vu grew up locally in Bay Point and attended Mt. Diablo High School.  She graduated from U.C. Davis with honors in Biochemistry, and received her D.D.S. at UCSF. Dr. Vu has broad knowledge in all phases of dentistry with particular emphasis in Bonding and Cosmetic Dentistry.  She is certified in Invisalign, the clear braces treatment method.  Dr. Vu especially enjoys working with children in the office and loves the challenge of making dental visits for children as most enjoyable an experience as possible.

Dr. Leroy Shimizu has more than 40 years of experience in preventive and comprehensive dentistry.  He is entering semi-retirement and seeing patients on a limited basis. Dr. Leung and Vu hopes to continue Dr. Shimizu’s established practice philosophy of giving each patient a healthy, beautiful smile for a lifetime.  They look forward to your visit to their office and to showing you the positive effects quality dental care can have on your life.
